Padded Goalkeeper Pants

How do you pick the best Goalkeeper Pants?
Most goalkeepers will go to a shop and buy the first padded goalkeeper pant that they see.
Big mistake!
I think maybe goalkeepers buy (or a parent of a keeper buys) because they just see goalkeeper pants with PADS and think that these goalie pants will do the job?
But not necessary!
There are padded keeper pants where the pads are just too thick making movement to difficult for the keeper. OR
On the other hand, the pads could be too thin, like paper, so not worth even putting on because they will not protect the goalkeeper!
Why you have to pick correct goalkeeper pants!!!
Well because above really, they pads could be too thin or even too thick!
So when you try and pair of these pants on, ‘FEEL THEM’ on you! I know its sounds daft but feel the padding to see if there is good padding, not too thick and not too thin.
IMPORTANT: Then make sure you can bend and twist in them as you need to be able to move in your pants otherwise it will restrict your movement and WILL cause you to concede goals!
That’s why most goalkeepers opt for the ¾ goalkeeper pants because they is less restriction on movement and can worn both for training and match play.
I hope this tip helps you, so please remember do not just but a pair of goalkeeper pants just because they have padding on them!
Best of Goalkeeping
